This room includes three works by Peter Halley (born New York, 1953) in which we can see a characteristic style of his in which he creates large blocks of bright colours that may or may not be connected by lines and that divide the canvas into sections. As Halley himself explains: ‘The cell is a reminder of the apartment house, the hospital bed, the school desk: the isolated endpoints of industrial structure.’ These are works that speak of alienation and isolation.
